Matt Marsh

Dear Sandersville Community,

I am Matt Marsh, the principal of Sandersville.  I grew up 40 minutes north of Lexington in Cynthiana, Kentucky, where I graduated from Harrison County High School.  I completed my undergraduate program at the University of Kentucky and have degrees in graduate programs from Eastern Kentucky University and the University of the Cumberlands.  I have served in Fayette County Public Schools since 2005.  My background includes teaching 5th grade at Northern Elementary and Sandersville.  In 2010, I moved into the role as the administrative dean for Sandersville.  The position then transitioned to PGES Coach.  I also served one year as interim principal at Garden Springs Elementary.  My wife, Kristy, is also an educator with FCPS and we have three children.  In my free time, I am active in my church, enjoy time with my family, like to play and watch sports, and enjoy camping.

I look forward to continuing the work of bringing a high quality education to the children in this area.  Sandersville is the neighborhood school for Masterson Station, the community my family has called home since 2008.  I will work with Sandersville’s dedicated staff to continue the excellence that has become an expectation for the Sharks.  Maintaining high-level visual and performing arts programs, increasing our Gifted and Talented/accelerated service options, and strengthening an already wonderful relationship with our PTA are important goals.  With your help, we will continue to keep relevant technology in the hands of students and teachers, add to our playground, continue to upgrade our facilities and grounds, and increase school to home communication through a variety of platforms.

Sincerely,

Matt Marsh
